She left you and you don't know why...

“I wonder if she ever thinks about me … or did she leave that memory behind?” Evangeline In the Morning is the story of love lost everyone can relate to. It’s happened in all our lives. From the first sound of rainfall to the last, the melancholy lyric will pull you in and make you feel as though you are sitting on a barstool south of Austin, downing one more shot of whiskey for the pain. This simple, beautiful song was written by John Blangero and producer Ace Acker and performed solely by them. It’s one of my favorite songs on Delta Tales. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

EVANGELINE IN THE MORNING by John Blangero and Ace Acker

Sitting on a barstool south of Austin One more shot of whiskey for the pain Outside, the morning rain Makes me think of her again Let that rain wash my tears away

If walls could talk, mine would tell a story Of the love we shared so long ago Then came one morning rain She said goodbye and walked away She didn’t bother to explain

Evangeline in the morning Evangeline—oh why did she go? I’ve lost my mind, I’ve lost control And I can’t take it anymore One more drink or I might go insane Wasted in the Austin morning rain

I wonder if she ever thinks about me Or did she leave that memory behind Tonight when I drive home From Austin back to San Antone I will drive her out of my mind

Evangeline in the morning Evangeline—oh why did she go? I’ve lost my mind, I’ve lost control And I can’t take it anymore One more drink or I might go insane Wasted in the Austin morning rain I'm wasted in the Austin morning rain

I hope you enjoyed John's story. I did! May the sun rise always over you...with love from Karyn. Please join our Sun King Rising crew. Add your name and email in the form below.
