As one-third of the Sun King's Rising Singers--along with Joy Brown and Bernice Wilkerson--Stevee's sublimely soulful voice is helping to propel SKR's new album, Signs & Wonders, to international acclaim.
I met Stevee on a remote Zoom production session in October 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. She and Joy added their voices to the Delta Tales single, Free Will in China Blue at David Granati's Maplewood Studio. When John Blangero and I began putting Signs & Wonders together in January 2021, Stevee and Joy were very much on our minds. Their voices, with Bernice, add immeasurable depth and color to almost every cut on the second album.
